When Roger and Ann finally finished the major renovation of their house - putting in a new roof, walls, floors and kitchen - they thought they would finally enjoy the peace and quiet. - It was like a nightmare. We finished everything... and then we heard rats above us. The same weekend the roof was finished," says Roger Bryggman.
It was the start of an intense autumn filled with rat tracks in the snow, broken cables and a terror that followed them every time they opened the door.
"We have lived here since 2018 och never had rats until now"
Roger and Ann moved in in 2018 and, until 2024, had never seen a rat in the area.

Soon neighbours started talking to each other, and it turned out that almost everyone had noticed rat tracks. They could be seen around the houses, in the courtyards and inside storage rooms. One of the neighbours even set traps and started filming at night to try to understand how many rats were moving around the area.
