The scientific breakthrough – now there is the rat repeller you can really trust

Vetenskapsgenombrottet – nu finns råttskrämman du verkligen kan lita på

For years, rats have been almost impossible to get rid of. Traps, poison and ultrasound have had limited effect. But now Professor Örjan Johansson at Luleå University of Technology has developed a method that makes the rats escape - directly. The technology is based on the rats' own language and is now finally available for ordinary households.

Poison, traps, ultrasound. Many have tried - but few have succeeded. Anticimex reports increasing problems in both Swedish cities and rural areas. Rats are not only unpleasant - they spread diseases, gnaw on electrical cables and can cause fires.

Traditional methods have major drawbacks. Rat poison is dangerous for both children and pets, traps require constant supervision and do not solve the root problem. And many people who have tried conventional ultrasonic scares report that the sound is audible, disturbing both humans and dogs - and that the rats get used to the sound.

But now there's a solution based on scientific breakthroughs - and already being hailed as the first rat repellent that actually works for real.

Professor Örjan found the key: "We tricked the rats' brains"
The technology is developed by Professor Örjan Johansson at Luleå University of Technology. He and his research team studied the rats' own language - the sounds they use to warn each other of danger.

- Rats send out alarm signals when they detect a threat. We analysed recorded sounds and managed to recreate these signals with high precision. When they hear them, their brains are triggered to flee - just like their own warning signals," explains Örjan.

Unlike conventional ultrasonic scarers, which only emit monotonous beeps that both humans and pets can hear - and that rats soon get used to - Repello works in a completely different way.

- Our technology recreates the rats' own alarm signals. It activates their instinctive escape behaviour - and it is impossible to resist," says Professor Örjan Johansson.

Scientifically tested - works in practice
The technology has been tested both in laboratory settings and in real-life properties. The results are clear: the rats are leaving the area - and not coming back. The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has carried out the tests and several major media, such as SVT, Aftonbladet and Ny Teknik, have reported on the breakthrough.

- We see that rats change their behaviour immediately. They flee and avoid returning to places where Repello is used. This is a method that works long-term," says Örjan.

How Repello works

  • Mimics rats' own alarm signal
  • No impact on people or pets
  • Quiet, discreet and easy to install
  • Developed and tested in Sweden

A solution for ordinary households
Repello is designed so that anyone can use it.

Easy installation - plug into the power socket
Effective on all surfaces - can be used in houses, cottages, basements, mobile homes and boats
Safe - no poisons, no traps, nothing that can harm children or pets

After years of research, the technology is now available to everyone.
